My Approach
In therapy you can expect a compassionate space to safely explore and move through the ways you’ve been impacted by difficult experiences or life circumstances. My goal is to support you in gaining more clarity, self-acceptance, and connection to your own wisdom as you navigate these challenges. I approach this process with warmth, curiosity, and respect for your experience.
My background is in humanistic and systems psychology- an approach that views people as inherently capable of growth and making meaning of their lives, while recognizing that their struggles often stem from things that happened to them or the systems they belong to, not from something being “wrong” with them. With this in mind, I focus on the whole person: the emotional, somatic, relational, and spiritual dimensions of healing.
Because the therapeutic relationship is so important, I offer a free consultation so we can get to know each other, and so I can answer any questions you might have!
More About Me
Before becoming a therapist, I studied oil painting and became a yoga teacher while completing my undergraduate program. After earning a master’s degree in counseling psychology, I began my clinical work in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. My experiences in those settings- as well as my personal struggles with anxiety and depression- inspired me to study trauma in more depth. That’s what led me to become trained in EMDR, an approach I use often. I’ve also spent many years studying and practicing contemplative and spiritual approaches to healing. I care about offering a safe space for others to work through their pain and connect with what’s true and meaningful for them.
I love my job and when I’m not working, I’m often enjoying beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest, writing, in spiritual practice, learning to dance, or relaxing with my partner and cat.
